Mrs. Potts. Eglantine Price. Mrs. Lovett. Salome Otterbourne. Mrs. Santa Clause. Jessica Fletcher. Madame Arcadi. These women may not be real, at least not in the flesh and existence form of reality, but they certainly live inside the memories and hearts of many, myself included. They are, of course, characters portrayed by Angela Lansbury.
Now Angela Lansbury has another Madame to add to that list – Madame Armfeldt in Trevor Nunn’s revival of A Little Night Music.
I enjoyed many things during A Little Night Music, from Catherine Zeta Jones powerful Send in the Clowns to Sondheim’s brilliant lyrics.
But nothing can beat seeing Angela Lansbury perform live.
