Kelly’s wedding was at the Virginia Aviation Museum.
It’s like a normal museum, only except for walls filled with writing it’s filled with planes and flight simulators.
And, on some nights, tables and bars and people.
Some of those tables are cubes that change color and glow in the dark.
It’s the new trend in tables.
If you’re in the table know.
I actually did attend the reception.
But I kept sneaking upstairs to take photos.
‘Cause I wanted to preserve the encompassed scene and how it changed throughout the night.
And though the voyeur perspective makes the photos slightly creepy, that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.
I do it for the children.
Kelly and Matt don’t have a child
But they do have an adorable dog
So I suppose I’m doing it for him,
Megan

Dear Megan,
I must ask you, in the name of all quirkiness and cool stuff in the world, for you to rent the movie, Vacation. National Lampoons Vacation. Chevy Chase. You can do it.
Until you do, I’m afraid that our pseudo love affair can not go any longer. HOW COULD IT? I’ve committed my life to the Griswolds and you don’t even know who they are.
Shame on you.
Shame, Megan.
What have you been doing with your years? Studying? Making friends?
Please send me your addres if you cannot find the time to buy or friends to borrow from…..I will mail you a fresh copy of one or all of the Griswold trilogy (VEGAS DOES NOT COUNT).
Signed,
Casey Griswold

You will quickly learn how terrible an idea it is to offer me a favor.
I have a dreadful habit of accepting!
This makes me want to get married. While flying a plane. And get a dog.
I’m apparently very susceptible to the power of suggestion.
Jessica, the solution is obvious – you and Snoopy, united in holy matrimony. I’ll totally be your photographer.
The fact that you would do this makes me think I am in love with you. And now I want to get married all over again just so I can invite you to stalk my wedding.
Ah, yes, everybody loves the stalker inside me. But book now – I don’t have time to stalk everybody’s wedding!
What an awesome place to have a wedding.
That reception venue kicks butt. Wow. My husband is going to want to redo our nuptials now. In an aviation museum.
Only if I’m allowed to stalk it from the shadows!
You weren’t invited to the wedding so you decided to hang out in a plane and live vicariously through the guests. Don’t lie
Oh Kimberly – you see right through me.
That is a super fun venue. What would it be like to live in a city with choices? Choices other than hotel, outside or the Elk’s Lodge? It’s mind boggling.
But I bet your choice of outside is more scenic!
What a cool place for a wedding!
I know, right? It was quite picturesque.
But did you reenact scenes from “Amelia?”
I bet you’re damned sexy in aviator goggles.
Ooh – now I have a burning need for aviator goggles.
Darn the lack of obvious stores that sell those!
What a cool place for a reception (and wedding? I wasn’t sure about that part.)
And I think sleeping all day could be highly productive! You get way rested and are ready to take on anything!
And thank you for such lovely encouragement on a Wednesday morning!
Also…regarding your tweets, Chick-Fil-A is awesome anytime.
It was just the reception – they had the ceremony at their home with only a few family members.
And yes, constant sleeping is clearly the path to a good life.
My husband would love to go to a party in an aviation museum. War museum would even be better, probably not a good idea for a wedding, maybe a divorce party. Do they have those? Have you really not seen the Griswold movies???? The Christmas one is a fav’ of mine.
Ooh – I’d go to a party in a war museum. (The Churchill War Room & Museum in London is definitely the best.) I think an office party would be appropriate!
I just attended a wedding in an aviation musuem less than 2 weeks ago in my hometown (which I didn’t actually know was there!) that looks so similar to this I thought for a minute we might be neighbors and got all excited. Then I remembered that you took a trip to Seattle and there was a time change so it was a different aviation musuem. What a great venue.
This wedding was in Richmond, Virginia, but I’m glad to hear the trend of aviation museum weddings is spreading – it’s quite a classy local!
This is a really unique wedding reception venue. Great photos! You really captured the spirit of the layout. Thanks for visiting Marlie and Me on this WW
What a unique place for a wedding!
And I like your dress…well, if it would have laid right! OMG. I would have been so embarrassed. Or maybe not. Considering that I was puked on at the last wedding I was at and that didn’t embarrass me.
I actually wasn’t that embarrassed – which, yes, slightly worries me about myself! Though I’m not sure if I would have felt embarrassed so much in your situation as nauseated!
What a unique place to get married!
And your dress story cracked me up! Yes, I’m being lazy and leaving one comment for two posts.
You’re back! I missed you.
I am!
Only I’ve never quite left here.
So I suppose I’m just still.
Whoa, how crazy!! I know of people who get married in the museums, though never an airplane museum!
Ooh – what museums do you know that people get married in?
I hope you’re going to share the guest view, too! The planes must look awesome from below.
Also, you better participate fully in my wedding one day- I’m gonna hire strangers to stalk me.
Have no fear – we shall get dozens of stalking strangers for your wedding.
Well, I’ve gotta tell ya Megan….I think this place where they had the wedding is so freakin’ awesome!
How original and unique!
Love how you shared with us the progression of the night through your photos – cool!
I know, right?
Kelly has always been the older-girl-who-is-far-cooler-than-I’ll-ever-be and her wedding did a great job of showcasing it!
What an unusual venue for a wedding reception! But really rather fabulous too and those are great photos to have taken from such a different perspective
It was perfect for the couple – so classy yet unique.
Cool wedding! And what lucky friends that they have you to preserve the memories, from that vantage point, for their progeny, or dog.
Ah yes, their dog should be quite grateful.
I’ll be expecting a thank you paw print in the mail any day now.
The Aviation Museum looks like such an awesome place for a wedding… makes me want to have mine somewhere similar, like the Air and Space Museum.
