Months of procrastination.
Weeks of cutting and measuring and pinning and sewing.
Sweat and hope, fears and dreams poured into the fabric.
(Figuratively, that is, - I’m very protective of my fabric.)
Bunching and scrunching.
Scrunching and bunching.
There were tears.
Mostly mine.
(Sewing is the opposite of baseball.)
But finally, finally, FINALLY my bridesmaid dress is done.
You’re going to have to stick around for the wedding post to see it,
Megan

YAY! So glad the crying is over! (unless you’re a happy crier, and will be doing so at the wedding)
I can’t wait to see the finished product!
Oooh…you are so mean!!
Now! Now!
Daddy, I want to see the bridesmaid dress….I want to see it NOOOWWWW!!
(You have to imagine that last part in a british accent.)
the anticipation is killing me!
You’re making us WAIT to see it?!?!?!?
Snap!
Congratulations!! “Sewing is the opposite of baseball” – so true! There’s always crying involved when I sew. Usually cursing as well, but there’s no ump to throw me out
I cant wait to see the dress!!!
Whoo hoo! Congrats!
I am very impressed that you didn’t secretly go to a professional tailor to have it made. Or dressmaker. Or seamstress. I’ve never been quite sure of the differences, although I’m sure they are significant, and all require skills I was born without.
Well… how do you know I didn’t secretly?
Not that I did.
I would never lie to you.
No, really.
I am just so impressed that you made this dress. They didn’t teach us sewing in charm school. LOVE “Sewing is the opposite of baseball” – I’m not too good at either one.
Yay Megan! I was starting to worry that you would be wearing pins down the aisle.
Wait – you mean there shouldn’t be any pins left?
Uh-oh.
I really like your newly shortened hair cut. The suspense over seeing the finished dress is good for us, surely. Builds character and all that.
I am a bit sad for you, too, because I know how you will miss that familiar presence. My sister and her husband moved away from our street quite a few years ago. I still miss being able to run down a few houses and have a cuppa while we dish the world.
Yay!!! You finished! Hate sewing to a degree that is intense. I swear and cry and resist throwing the stupid thing across the room when all I’m doing is just sewing a button back on… you have my respect for finishing the dress.
I couldn’t sew if my life depended on it so I would have had tears right along with you. The important thing is that it’s done!
Stop by my blog when you get a chance…you have an award waiting for you!
Can’t wait for the wedding post! And that pin cushion is too cute!
What? WHAT?
You’re going to make us WAIT to see the dress?
If there is a fashion equivalent to being blue-balled, THIS IS IT.
YAY Congrats on finishing it on time!
I’m impressed. I couldn’t even do a pre-made stocking kit.
For a moment there I thought your hair had grown back really quickly…..
Congratulations!!!
Right on Megan! I can’t believe you actually can make a dress, I mean, how cool is that? Looking forward to seeing you shine in it!
Hallelujah! The day finally arrived! I can’t believe it and i’m so pumped to see it!
Aaaggghhh! You’re killin’ me here by making me wait! Can’t wait to see the final product
Seriously… we have to wait?!?!
Love it already from the little hints I can see. Can’t wait for the wedding post! Have fun!!!
Wow, I’m so impressed that you’re making your own bridesmaid dress! Can’t wait to see it completed.
Well that won’t do. I want to see it now!
I was all set to compliment you on your cool, funky bracelet…then realized it’s just a pin cushion!
Lamb’s Most Recent Post: Cornbread Muffins…with Hotdogs and Spinach!
Well done! You finally got there. And not a moment too soon.
Now you have to make the shoes, too!
I have mixed emotions about you finishing your dress. On the one hand I am happy for you but on the other I was really hoping you would just end up wearing the Tweety Bird dress. Dang.
That’s incredible! I can’t wait to see it!
I am pretty sure if I made my own bridesmaid dress the bride would take one look at my attempt and hand me a garbage sack instead, as it would look better then anything I could create.
Making your own sure beats the $250 I had to drop on one recently!
Have I mentioned how much I am loving your hair? Not lately? Well, consider this your compliment from me for today!
I’m so excited to see the wedding pictures and you and Skye’s dresses!
I know it’s been awhile since you posted this but congrats to you girl!! You are WAY more talented in than me and you’ve got a lot more guts!!
