Omid Djalili is currently playing Fagin in Oliver on the West End. Though I have never seen Oliver before, Djalili has clearly ruined me for any other Fagin. He brought a surprising humor to Fagin, making me favor him even above Oliver, the orphan who owns the title of the show.

John Barrowman is why my mom and I saw La Cage Aux Folles in London. He’s the actor whose photo I so forwardly took for my newfound English friend. And if you are into British Science Fiction television, you already know him. If, like me, you are not, then you’d be lucky to have a friend like Lindsey. She introduced me to Barrowman, both his work in Dr. Who and his show tune CDs.

I saw Hairspray on the West End. And I liked it. But what I loved was the marquis having the title on a jumbo hairspray bottle. Just looking at this photo makes me smile. Now that’s theatre.
