Last spring I learned I was the proud aunt of two bouncing baby groundhogs.
I had discovered Gerald had twins.
So it should have come to no surprise to me that apparently two babies runs in the family.
Meet…
Gerald’s grandbabies, Harold and Maude.
Maude’s the more gregarious of the pair.
But I’ve got a soft spot for Harold.
When I look into those sweet groundhog faces I forget about the coming/past apocalypse,

Adorable, and I want one.
Apocalypse? Yeah, I missed that memo…
They are so SO cute!
Awe! So cute
Does this make you a great aunt?
The name Maude is virtually synonymous with ‘gregarious’ isn’t it?
I mean come on. She’s a party all. by. herself.
(so cute. i want one. except for the rabies. maybe.)
Harold and Maude are perfect names for that duo.
How do you know Gerald didn’t have a second brood himself?
Huhn.
Strangely, this never once occurred to me.
How does you tells them apart?
I live in central PA, we have lots & lots & lots of groundhogs. I don’t have much to say other than that they’re brazen – I’ll ride my bike by and I swear the little guys run out into the middle of the road when I approach because they know I’m not going to run them over.
I feel like Maude is eying me disapprovingly.
Maude knows what you’ve done.
Why do the names Harold and Maude strike me as so hilarious, yet so perfect for these groundhogs? LOVE IT!
I missed take one. Which means I’m thoroughly confused about where this sudden abundance of photographable groundhogs is coming from…or are groundhogs just naturally photogenic?
I wouldn’t be surprised if Harold and Maude started behaving outside of normal societal boundaries.
What adorable new additions to your gang! So darn cute!
Congrats! They’re adorable.
GroudHOG? Offensive. Pretty sure they prefer the term “groundswine.”
Is it just me or is the grass really facken neon green? I like the name Louis. Strong and dignified name.
Do they bite or nibble gently?
