Saturday, after Skye & Lindsey had spent the morning helping me carry boxes and unpack books, we gathered together and ate Cadbury Creme eggs and watched Looper.
It was lovely.
Then, on Sunday, blue paint and I met once more.
This was by my mom’s doing – if you’ve been following along my home glimpses on Best of Fates’s Facebook page you might have seen that I’ve grown accustomed to the lack of cabinet doors, especially given that putting the doors on would require actual work.
Then my mom came over and did the work.
It was lovely.
I’ve cheated with a celebrity autobiography here and a list of famous fictional characters there, but have steadfastly remained committed to reading all of Hercule Poirot’s novels.
I’m about halfway through and am already a little bit dreading the end.
What will I do without Hercule in my life?
(Sure, I could switch to Miss Marple, but it just wouldn’t be the same.)
(Poirot & Me, we’ve got a thing going on.)
(It’s lovely.)
Skye surprised me last week with this scrapbook page of my Grandma & me.
Isn’t she lovely?
Skye also recently brought around Snooki.
Snooki is her boyfriend’s dog and she is the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen.
Skye got to spend a week with Snooki while Justin was out of town and I took quite the advantage of Snooki’s availability.
Though we never got around to the music video we’ve been trying to convince Justin to let us film her in.
(It would have been lovely.)
After a year of watching me fumble and become terribly far behind and accidentally stamp my table, Skye has seen the light and decided to attempt Project Life with me this year.
We are, as you would guess, already behind.
(I know, right?)
But we have grand plans to catch up.
Which, if we do, will be lovely.
And, if we don’t, at least you’ll have all seen it coming.
Guys?
After getting this fortune cookie and its hilariously incorrect fortune, I’m starting to doubt the legitimacy of the dessert future prediction system.
Though I wouldn’t completely rule it out until I gave a brownie a good hour with a crystal ball and some tarot cards.
What’s making you happy right now?
Megan
If There Were More Cadbury Creme Eggs, The World Would Be A Happier Place

Not Cadbury eggs. I’ve never understood them. Blech.
Do you loan Skye out as a best friend? Because everyone should have one like her.
Aww, you are so sweet!
If you are willing to pay my travel and living expenses, plus emotional damages to Megan for having me gone, we might be able to work something out
I don’t know, though, I do enjoy eating Cadbury eggs with my best friend.
Guess what I think?

This post is lovely.
I never make that big smiley, but that’s how I hope you imagine me when you read this comment, so…there you go.
Except don’t imagine me making that face in a stupid way, but in a genuine way. If that is possible.
That is the best fortune/cookie-breaker-open match up I have ever seen.
And I didn’t realize the smiley would actually show up as a little face! Now I know.
It makes me happy that I am part of so many things on your current happy list! Also that we are scrapbooking pictures of each other in that picture.
p.s. Snookie let me cuddle her this weekend! It stuck!
So much loveliness! Which is in itself lovely, so this could be a nice loop for constant happiness if we can keep it going
I couldn’t agree more. I absolutely LOVE cadbury creme eggs. I wish they were a year-round candy but I can only ever find them during Easter and have to stock up! Which never lasts for very long, anyway. Oh well.
You had me at Cadbury eggs
Craving time
Love that scrapbook!
What makes me happy? Funny you should ask… I just blogged about it
I’m with Christina- this was a lovely post. Although I personally prefer to say loverly. It’s not my fault- I was in “My Fair Lady” when I was in high school.
I lost faith in the dessert future prediction system years ago when I received a fortune that said (I kid you not) “No fortune today. Even cookies need a day off.” I had carried it in my purse for years and then I lost it. It was both humorous and disappointing at the same time. *sigh*
Nothing. I’m grumpy mcgrumpypants. Maybe I should buy some cadbury eggs.
It was thoughtful of Skye to have given this to you. It is nice to know that Skye too can now do scrapbooking like you. Lovely and memorable photographs of your grandma and you.
I love this post, so much happiness. Agatha Christie is one of my very favorite authors. So much brilliance.
I am happy now that I realize Cadbury Creme Eggs are back in the store. I’m going immediately after work!
You’re behind in Life? Oh, sorry about that.
Cadbury Creme Eggs are already out??? Where, praytell, did you find them? I need this information so very badly right now. Please provide, ASAP.
That would be lovely.
My local Giant, so I would assume most local grocery stores? I’m sending cadbury vibes your way, good luck!
I’m happy you and skye are healthy and happy.
I have a novel and short story that each will be published in february. I’ll keep you updated. That makes me somewhat happy. I’m dark, moody, weird, and crazy so I don’t get real happy about much. Although Best of Fates is a happy place to hang…your grandma is adorable.
That? Is something VERY worthy of happiness. Remind me the moment they come out and I can have a little Lance reading party in my living room. It’ll probably be just me, people don’t tend to attend my parties, but it’ll still be wild.
I’ll attend your party, assuming you do all the work of reading and just tell me the good parts. (Sorry Lance… I mean, I’m sure it’s all good parts, so read it all out loud to me?)
I have always disliked Cadbury Eggs. It suddenly occurs to me that I don’t remember ever actually trying one. I am not sure how this happened. I think this must be rectified ASAP.
I’m pretty annoyed that the dogs name is Snooki. Even if the dog’s name came before Jersey Shore, I would think the dog would go ahead and get its name changed.
