A young white man who finds himself in Rock ‘n Roll.
A young black woman who has a beautiful voice.
A town in Tennessee in the 1950s.
Can you see where this is going?
I thought I could. At least, I saw two possible scenarios – the tragic and the romantic. Want to know a slight spoiler? Neither came to fruition. Regardless of my predictions, I was enthralled by the story, and most importantly, I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out the end.
The story is only aided by the uniform power and beauty of the casts voices. Their acting is also superb, with even the ensemble grabbing my attention and growing in small parts.
In short, I recommend it. Or at least the cast album.
