And since she spent the weekend with me at Bloggy Boot Camp in Philadelphia, Pursey Galore got to boogie.
Given to Martha, over at Pursuit of Martha Points, this little purse started as a tacky present, but has become a blogging fundraiser.
For every stop it makes, some companies agreed to donate money to the National Stroke Association.
Every week Pursey flies to a new home, a new blogger, courtesy of the Postal Service.
(Sadly I’m referring to the mail, not the band.)
(Though that would be a far more successful fundraiser.)
Since I was attending Bloggy Boot Camp this weekend, I volunteered to take Pursey and show her around.
The last woman who had Pursey sent me a new lipstick, so I could maintain the fabulous-ness of the purse.
It made me feel twice as cool.
Though, like the few other times I wear lipstick, also made me paranoid lipstick was on my teeth.
If you were at BBC, and it was on my teeth, please don’t tell me.
I just don’t think I could handle it.
Pursey is also a reminder to women to take time for themselves.
Though without a husband or kids, I would be better served with a purse reminding me to take time for others.
I hope Pursey Galore enjoyed our weekend together.
‘Cause she sure took me on a wild ride.
Last time I went to Bloggy Boot Camp I learned I’m an idiot
Then, hilariously, my car got towed
And I had to risk my life getting it back,
Megan

Blogging Boot Camp? Why oh why don’t I live in a large, hip, happening city where such frivolity exists?
It looks like your purse had fun. Since it’s was for charity, do these photos allow you to write off the whole event???
Yeah, that should be “it was for charity”.
I am deeply ashamed.
Oh boy,
Every one is showing the purse such a good time I’m starting to get purse stress. Do you think anyone would mind if I brought her bowling? It’s about as glamourous as things get around here.
Dana
PS on a more serious note, Where did you get your amazing camera strap. Just let me know here and I’ll check back. I luuuuuv it!
I bought it off a seller on Etsy.
‘Cause everything on Etsy is fabulous.
Though I think it would be relatively easy to make.
And I’ve somehow completely forgotten the name of the seller.
But go to Etsy and search camera strap – you’ll get back 50 gazillion gorgeous responses.
Never thought about the glam life my purse leads, very fun

love that you had pursey! and it was fun to catch julie and theta mom in these pics!
Before I started reading, I just thought that was your purse. I was going to have to hold an intervention. You look nice in lipstick. I’m saying this in a motherly friend sort of way, not a weird creepy chianti and fava beans sort of way.
I find it way ironic that the purse has such a more interesting life than I do.
But, these things happen! Thank you for taking Pursey to BBC! Your fictionalized version of the day will be on the blog by tonight.
I have a plan….
If you’d like a picture of me with Pursey, there’s one up in the Philly Bloggy Boot Camp set on my Flickr account – http://www.flickr.com/bestoffates.
I didn’t use it in this post, but all of my Flickr photos are set so anyone can take them, so feel free.
It was great meeting you and “pursey” this weekend. She (oh, and you) was a big hit!
And no, no lipstick on the teeth was noticed. So you can sleep soundly tonight
Ask, and you shall receive
You can now comment on my page with just Name/URL…I’m all about making my readers happy!
I actually love this purse…you said it was tacky or what not but I’d totally pull it off. I’d love to show Pursey a good time with me in Dublin next week (hint, cough, hint…)
I love it!
Aw, that looks fun- I didn’t know you were doing that this weekend! Also, sad Pursey couldn’t make it to the Jersey Shore party- that would have been awesome!
Well, I’ll be getting her for a weekend for my own, so we’ll have to come up with something equally as awesome!
Gorgeous bag! And so fun to see a few familiar faces. I attend BBC in SF a few weeks ago. What fun!
Thanks for coming by!
Oh, I so wish that I could have been there.
And hey, whatever happened with the challenge I gave to you?
If you suck your finger after applying lipstick it removes any that is on your inner lip where it is likely to end up on your teeth
I wish I were a purse. Think of all the great things to see and people to meet! Plus… I like gossip and secrets. Being a purse would be awesome!
Random, but those are my thoughts
Love it…..wow that purse has a good life! Great to meet you this weekend.
You’re HILARIOUS! Great to meet you and share a table at lunch!! Jill
I wish I had a purse as fabulous as that purse!
You look like you two had a GREAT time. I love your fabulously coordinated outfits.
PS – The lipstick looks fab.
Nice, Megan of bestoffates…niiiice! Way to show the purse a good time! Way to get it out there! Get it going! Make it happen! I’m sure Pursey will never, never, ever, not never forget you!
I was admiring Pursey Galore throughout BBC day, I didn’t think she was tacky at all! Everyone needs a little glitter, sequins, and zebra stripes in their life.
I am so very sad I had to miss Bloggy Bootcamp this time
The wild lipgloss looks good on you, yeah! I have to admit it was the “last kid picked for the baseball team”. I got them for all the girls that went out on our Pursey Galore night and it was the last one left so I threw it in the purse and Sharyn said it wasn’t her so she would send it along to you
It looks like she had a great day at BBC and can’t wait to hop over and read Lori’s story.
The above was not anonymous, I just forgot to fill out the form! Poppy
I want to meet Pursey!
What a great weekend it was! You take some great pictures Girl!
Personally…I think Pursey is adorable and she could come stay at my house anytime any day. I like shiny, sparkly things!
But I also think I am Nudie Cohn re-encarnated. He made all the snazzy blinged out suits that the old country singers like Porter Wagoner wore. Of course it’s just a theory.
Bloggy Boot Camp looks like it was fun! Wish I could have gone!
