Perfection

It’s Friday and I’m tired.

Tired tired tired.

Lindsey and I were in DC into the wee hours with a catastrophe of minor proportions.

I’m too tired to tell you about it.

Instead I thought I’d share little things from Sharon’s wedding.

Perfection

Like my obsession with this photo.

I’m going to print it and keep on my mantle forever.

I hope my future kids don’t win lots of awards.

Or it’s going to get awkward.

Mantle Lanterns

Lanterns were the centerpieces – and each member of the wedding party got to keep one as a favor.

I got two.

Apparently other people passed on the light-bringing-greatness of the lantern.

My gain.

My future apartment fire’s loss.

Hot Wax

After all the guests had left, Skye and I went around cleaning and picking up.

I learned an important lesson.

You’re not suppose to just blow candles out.

Because hot wax is out to get you.

(Or at least embarrassingly get blown all over your face.)

They're Not Really Expecting

Sharon & Dan aren’t really expecting.

That window’s a liar.

Elvis in the Walls

If you’re ever staying in a mansion in the hills of Virginia and there isn’t a tape player built into the walls, you’re getting gypped.

The tape inside was Elvis.

Obviously, this mansion knows how to party.

2 Bubbles

Bubbles are a wedding revolution.

A beautiful, reflective revolution.

Dino Nugget Anger

Along with mini quiches and fruit salad, the wedding brunch included Dino nuggets.

Dan’s mom managed to sneak them into every important event of his life, including  graduation, so his wedding couldn’t be excluded.

Purple Fingers

For the first time in  years I got my nails done – lavender, to match my dress.  It looked so pretty I questioned why I don’t do my nails more often.

A week later my nails look as if I’m a society matron who’s suddenly been forced into manual labor, and I remember.

Wet Smooches

Today is the last day of Sharon and Dan’s epic move to Colorado.

Today they’ll arrive at their apartment, unloading their boxes and piano and wedding presents.

And I hope they know how much they’re missed.

I didn’t try the Dino nuggets,

Megan

You always have to watch out for hot wax. And lying car windows. I remember when the world was a kinder, gentler place…

… at least Elvis is living on through internal mansion audio…

That’s my favorite picture from the wedding too!!! I was just thinking about how much I loved it when I was looking through your Flickr set yesterday.

I love my lantern. And I miss Sharon already.

I swear you should be writing comedy for someone. Does Ellen know about your wit? Someone who knows her should tell her – I don’t.
Looking forward to hearing about the “catastrophe of minor proportions”!

Everything was lovely and I’m totally with you on manicures – beautiful, but too short lived to be worth it.

Now tell us about the catastrophe.

Pretty please.

Dino nuggets have saved many lunch melt-downs in my house. I know what we are serving at the boys weddings now!

Yes, I love the first pic, but oh, oh wow the bubble pic is fantastic!

I’m sorry to hear about your epic catastrophe! Hopefully everything is okay.

Great photos – I love the bubbles one.

And here is something to brighten your day: http://www.mamapop.com/2010/08/eminem-song-inspired-eminem-exwifes-relationship.html

See if you can figure out why Mr. Handsome God of Lyrical Epicness is in that wheat field. I do not get it.

That is in fact an awesome photo.

1. I want to know what that tattoo says.

2. I also want to hear about the minor catastrophe.

Cause…well…I’m nosy.

But endearing, don’t you think?

Okay, I don’t know this friend Sharon of yours. . and at risk of sounding like a total crazy, I am almost crying because that is the most beautiful wedding dress I have ever seen! Rock it Sharon who I don’t know!

Chicken just tastes better in the shape of a dinosaur…

I painted my nails earlier this summer and wondered the same thing. Since then I’ve painted them every week!

I know a thing or two about missing friends. It’s hard sometimes.

I love that picture too!! I really love the flowers in her hair. So beautiful!!

You were smart to stay away from the dino nuggets. Processed food like that is never a good option!

:-)
