4th of July meets Campy Horror Flick, Take 2

Where were we?
Oh yes, the bridge.
Not knowing the future, the fate that awaits…

it seems the perfect time for a photo shoot.

Sadly, like most things in the woods, what starts off innocent and pure…

soon devolves.

I’ll spare you the rest.
Suffice to say, it isn’t pretty.
By and by, it’s time to continue the hike.
What is lurking in the ferns?
Thinking it’s so clever to hide in ferns, for who suspects ferns?

People in the know, that’s who.

Something far more dangerous than trolls skedaddle about under that bridge.
Did you know trolls skedaddle?
True story.
Some innocent creatures still live deep in the forest.
Those that have lost the ability to trust.
Many sacrifices must be made to live
 in such a place.
Sacrifices that those who casually stroll through cannot possibly comprehend, nor sympathize with.
What is creeping through the foliage?
It might seem harmless
But that’s what it wants you to think.
Next on the hike is the marshes.

You already know nothing good happens in the marshes.

Stumbling upon an abandoned dwelling, the thought occurs – “What drove the people here to flee, leaving behind such a desolate shell of a home?”

Hopefully you won’t find out.

Approach with great caution.
Or not.
It’s easy to be beckoned inside, quickly forgetting survival instincts.
Ignorance, though deadly, is so often bliss.
Miraculously, no one is lost on the hike.
It’s time to head back.
Returning to the cabin, we discover someone waiting on the porch.
To Be Continued…
