Wilma Finds A Friend

Remember Wilma the deer?

As the leaves slowly die and drift to the ground I’d assumed Wilma was off in the woods.

Letting absence grow her heart fonder for me.

But apparently Wilma’s found a friend.

A fellow traveler along life’s dusty roads.

Or wooded trails, as the case may be.

I’m glad Wilma has found a companion.

A Gayle to her Oprah.

A Lumiere to her Cogsworth.

A C.S. Lewis to her J.R.R. Tolkien.

I just hope she won’t be a Brutus to her Caesar.

Forest life can be vicious,

Megan

I’m so happy for Wilma. The other one looks like an Estelle or Beverly to me.

Hmm, I can see Estelle.

Though I am immediately reminded of the Golden Girls.

But then who’s Dorothy?

True… though I had hoped my friendship alone with satisfy Wilma, if she had to turn to another friend I’m glad it’s such an adorable one.

A Gayle to her Oprah. Well said.

I’m telling you – I hung out with Wilma last week and homegirl is NOT lonely. In fact, I’d have to say she’s part of a gang.

Mindee… what a terribly serious accusation to be making.

I’m, well, I’m going to take what you saw under advisement.

But I’m going to have to ask Wilma her side of the story before jumping to conclusions.

I just hope we will all find a peaceful resolution.

And not feel it’s needed to smear Wilma’s good name.

Wilma the Deer has a shiv, not a shank?

Huh. Must be a West Coast Gang Deer…

Reply

Megan November 2, 2010

Really?

As an East Coast gal, I’m shocked to discover I’ve been using the wrong improvised knife-like weapon lingo all these years.

Clearly I’m just not gangsta enough.

Oooh, Lori!

I liked the Gayle-Oprah one.

And am I the only one impressed that the deer is looking over its own back?

Megan November 2, 2010

It turns out deer are flexible like ninjas.

So that’s a good lesson.

Maybe it’s her sister… or her daughter from a few years ago! She’s back in town early for Thanksgiving.

What about … a Teva to her Isabel?

Too obvious.
