This is not my book.

I’m dog sitting for Maggie and Kelly‘s parents this week and forgot to bring over a book for my Recommended Reading post.

So I decided to be creepy and look through theirs.

And this is what I found.

xkcd is a webcomic that you’ve probably heard mentioned in discussions of hilarious online stuff.

So yes – this is a book of comics that are free on the Internet.

But I’m still suggesting you buy it, and this is why:

It’s funny.

Really, really funny.

And people should always support funny.

People, however, should clearly not leave me alone in their home,

I think I can speak with authority after having lived here for 10 years- that Canadian comment was spot on.

I received your email, just so you know.

And I’m a terrible, terrible, terrible correspondant. Which you probably realized when I never responded to your last email, which I also got and kept meaning to respond to!

But I’m going to respond to this one, I promise! The response just takes me looking at my tech stuff and figuring out how it works, so that’s why I’m being slow.

By Tuesday though, I promise – and if not, feel free to ride me about it!

(Yes, I realize I wrote this whole thing instead of emailing you. And I’m sorry. I’m obviously only lazy in some ways.)

The photo of the book looks great against the white tile, but do I need to read the book off the bathroom floor too?

Reply

Megan January 8, 2011

Yes.

Like all great novels, this book is best consumed sitting on cold tile.

The discomfort makes it funnier.

Now I feel the need to make “funny supporter” t-shirts. Or something less intense, like a button.

That last comic made me laugh the most, especially when it said “If you die in Canada you die in real life.” Thanks for the laugh!

Mainly the cat in the bowl – though I’m sadly far too much a coward to get into real stalking, so missed out on any juicy finds!
