This is not my book.
I’m dog sitting for Maggie and Kelly‘s parents this week and forgot to bring over a book for my Recommended Reading post.
So I decided to be creepy and look through theirs.
And this is what I found.
xkcd is a webcomic that you’ve probably heard mentioned in discussions of hilarious online stuff.
So yes – this is a book of comics that are free on the Internet.
But I’m still suggesting you buy it, and this is why:
It’s funny.
Really, really funny.
And people should always support funny.
People, however, should clearly not leave me alone in their home,
Megan

I think I can speak with authority after having lived here for 10 years- that Canadian comment was spot on.
I received your email, just so you know.
And I’m a terrible, terrible, terrible correspondant. Which you probably realized when I never responded to your last email, which I also got and kept meaning to respond to!
But I’m going to respond to this one, I promise! The response just takes me looking at my tech stuff and figuring out how it works, so that’s why I’m being slow.
By Tuesday though, I promise – and if not, feel free to ride me about it!
(Yes, I realize I wrote this whole thing instead of emailing you. And I’m sorry. I’m obviously only lazy in some ways.)
gluing captions to your cats? this book sounds right up my alley!
I, too, am a sucker for captioned cats!
The photo of the book looks great against the white tile, but do I need to read the book off the bathroom floor too?
Yes.
Like all great novels, this book is best consumed sitting on cold tile.
The discomfort makes it funnier.
I support funny! And this books seems like a great gift for my brother, who also always supports funny!
Ooh – you should totally get it for him. He sounds like he deserves it – I’m always a fan of people who support funny!
I for one always support funny. I come by read your posts, laugh, comment and come back again to laugh again.
Funny Supporter,
Grace
Now I feel the need to make “funny supporter” t-shirts. Or something less intense, like a button.
Get out of my head! I’m writing about one of their comics on Monday! But since you’re hear already, can you hand me some toilet paper?
Yes! I knew that one day I’d perfect my brain-entering technology!
That last comic made me laugh the most, especially when it said “If you die in Canada you die in real life.” Thanks for the laugh!
You’re welcome. Though you should probably direct your thanks toward xkcd!
I trust you don’t go through medicine cabinets too young one. Books are out and about. They’re fair game.
Don’t worry – I felt sketchy enough taking the book off the top of the nightstand!
You are welcome to come to my house and rummage through it for blog fodder anytime. Especially if you bring the house cleaning fairies.
I have a nosy personality and a Swiffer – where do you live?
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE xkcd. the guy who draws it went to my college around the same time i did. it also sums up my life as the girlfriend of a tech boy.
Isn’t it beyond hilarious? I’m in awe at how he can always come up with something funny.
I will buy it! Thanks for the heads up!!
Among nerdom this is nerdnip!
Here is my very favorite xkcd and it explains so much about me, I am not a slow learner, I just want to be SURE! lol
Understanding Science
Well, I hope you don’t develop a terrible addiction – nerdnip sounds dangerous!
Well “Mr. Science” cant even make a link right. Derrr.
Take two… Understanding Scientists
LOL! That is awesome. And yes, I always support funny. Funny is what gets me through the days!!!
I wanna know what else did you find in their home?
Mainly the cat in the bowl – though I’m sadly far too much a coward to get into real stalking, so missed out on any juicy finds!
You had me at “gluing captions to cats”.
Oh yes, that’s when I usually lure people in.
Comics about cats AND Canada? I *so* need this book.
Obviously – your two great loves! (I’m assuming Lindsey is considered a subset of Canada.)
What? where has this comic been all my life. HILARIOUS! kind of like this blog….
It’s been out there, on the internet! Isn’t it crazy how many hilarious things are out there hiding that we don’t know about yet?
That book looks awesome! It’ll fit with my other internet books: Texts from Last Night and Stuff White People Like.
I used to follow webcomics, but then I got too lazy. Yes, I know how pathetic that is.
you;’re right: it is funny!
And that’s the last time I ask you to babysit
Well, if you don’t want me to find it you shouldn’t leave it on your dresser!
